Hey, howsabout giving a teeny bit even to the tsunami relief?
Here's a good list of places to donate.
Our "nation" (as represented by a guy who spent 3 days riding his bike and clearing brush on vacation before responding to the disaster) originally pledged $15 million, less than it costs to build a school, or a bridge, or a movie theater or pretty much anything over here; then it went to $35 million, which was still less than much smaller and less wealthy countries gave. This sends a real great message about how caring and generous the most powerful and wealthiest nation ever in the history of the world can be, don't you think? Well now it's come to $350 million, which is much better, but that original display of... I don't know, extreme dumbassery, is still floating out there, so why not let the world know that the people whom a certain vacationing guy is supposed to represent are better than that by giving a little yourself, huh?
It's really unimaginable how much damage the tsunami has caused. This is a good time to give those few bucks you can actually afford to give but never got around to giving because you're always broke, like most people. So give it a whirl and feel good.
